Born of Water and the Spirit = Baptism in Jesus’ Name?
What is this being born of water and the Spirit, which is a washing in water and in the name of Jesus Christ? There is only one practice instituted by Christ that is a regeneration in Jesus’ name. Where do water and Jesus’ name come together? Acts 10:47-48 says, “‘Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?’ And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord” (cf. 10:43).
